Keeping Bristlenose Catfish With Your Betta Fish

It's well known male Betta Fish are regarded as a solitary fish due to the fact that when placed with another Betta male they will fight. Therefore in many cases Bettas are kept in a tank all by themselves. This is unfortunate as often the size of the tank is little larger that a cup as many Betta owners are under the misconception that a small container will always be adequate.

This couldn't be further from the truth. Bettas will survive in a container the size of cup but honestly can you really imagine them being happy in one? Therefore it is widely accepted by most credible Betta owners that the absolute minimum size tank for one male Betta is about 5 to 6 litres or 1.5 Gallons.

So now you've got your Betta in a slightly larger tank you now have the opportunity to add another fish so why not try a Bristlenose Catfish/Pleco. Firstly Bristlenose and Bettas both
