Betta can do well in both bowls and aquarium tanks, but the tiny cups they come in are way too small. A lot of pet stores sell tanks that are not much bigger than those cups and they should be avoided too. A betta really should have at least a 2 gallon tank to be comfortable. Many stores sell kits that come with most of what you need in a variety of sizes such as 2.5, 5 and 10 gallons. If you can only afford a bowl try and get the biggest one you can or a large vase can also work.

Decorations really aren’t just for decoration. They help to make your betta fish feel comfortable and more at home. Plants are the most important thing to include because betta fish like to hide and rest on the leaves.

Soft plants are better and live plants work great too. Just make sure your betta has good room to swim and can reach the top of the water.
